Use Hot Tub Hydrotherapy for Improved Sleep, San Jose Hot Tubs

Friday, May 24th, 2019

Optimizing health with deep, peaceful sleep begins and ends with the right lifestyle choices. A dip in the family hot tub along with a few commonsense strategies can promote sleep, making it easier to look and feel your best. Ready to get a good night’s rest by lounging in the spa?

Here’s how hot tub hydrotherapy can lead to improved sleep.

The Role of Sleep in Health and Wellness
We’ve been told for centuries how important sleep is for health, but why? Mostly because the body works to repair itself as we rest, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the skin and other organs. Unfortunately, not everyone sleeps soundly, and over time, inadequate sleep can lead to decreased productivity, weight gain, and even heart problems. The good news is, restful sleep on a regular basis is one of the best things you can do for optimal health.

Hot Tub Hydrotherapy
The family hot tub is more than a fun meeting place to share laughs and conversations with friends. In fact, it’s an amazing tool for promoting a deep, revitalizing sleep. It has a lot to do with relaxation and how just a quick soak eases stress and relaxes the entire body. But it also prepares the body for a quick transition from awake to sleep. High heat raises core body temperature, but the quick decrease when you get out triggers the brain that sleep is near. Twenty minutes before bed is all it takes to promote a great night’s rest.

A Hot Tub for Health
Sleeping better is only one of the amazing benefits from regular hot tub use. Spending a few relaxing moments in the spa can also ease a variety of aches and pains, reduce arthritis and chronic back pain symptoms, ease stress and even strengthen relationships. So much good can come form a dip in the spa, it’s easy to see why so many people have chosen to make an at home hot tub part of a healthy lifestyle.

So Go Ahead, Take a Soak, You Deserve It!
It’s fast, fun and relaxing. Not only that, it’s good for the body, soothes the mind and can improve your overall health and well-being.

To encourage local residents to check out the benefits of using a hot tub to help improve their overall health and well-being, The Spa and Sauna Company is providing free test soaks at all their showrooms. We do recommend, however, that people wanting to schedule their free 30-minute soak call us ahead of time to reserve their spot.

Does a Hot Tub Increase the Value of Your Home?

Thursday, May 23rd, 2019

By Laura Varnon, Marketing Coordinator

Let’s take a look at how having a hot tub impacts the value of your home. Hot tubs can be an investment for your property and can fit almost any budget. Hot tubs can be purchased for anywhere from $3,000 to $20,000.

But like any part of your home, how you care for it determines if it will have a positive effect on your home’s value, should you decide to sell it.

Couple in a hot tub outside of their home

Hot Tubs at Permanent Residences

Portable hot tubs can be moved and for that reason may be considered personal property that can be taken with the homeowner when they leave the property. However, some homeowners decide to include their hot tub with the sale of their home.

Local Realtor Jim Forbus, of KRCH Realty in Reno, said about a quarter of the homes he sells have hot tubs that are sold with the house.

“A hot tub or spa, over a pool, is much more desirable,” he said, because you can use it daily and almost any time of the year.

He also has a hot tub at his own home.

Hot Tubs at Vacation Homes

Hot tubs are also very desirable at vacation destinations, which make up a large portion of the areas we serve, including Lake Tahoe and Santa Cruz.

Vacation homes with hot tubs are much more likely to be rented than those without, making a hot tub a worthwhile investment. In those cases, hot tubs certainly increase property or rental value.

Added Value

Here at The Spa and Sauna Company, we commonly work with realtors and homeowners who purchase a hot tub to feature at a property to add value.

Recently, we had a customer come in to purchase a used Hot Spring Spa for their Graeagle property.

He had a deck which had a hole in it, because he had removed a hot tub from it.

Upon trying to sell the home, a few potential buyers remarked that the deck would be great, if it had a hot tub in it. He came in and bought one, and not long after, the property sold.

Maintenance

Like anything, how you care for a hot tub will determine if it adds value when you sell the property and hot tub.

Forbus said he recently worked with someone who had a hot tub that not well maintained and decided to remove it before listing the property.

Even so, with the popularity of hot tubs, having the wiring available for a hot tub hook up can be a selling bonus too.

“It it’s nice, I definitely feature it,” he said, of hot tubs that come with homes he sells.

To wrap up, hot tubs can be a definite bonus when living in or selling a home. And should you need assistance with hot tub cleaning and routine maintenance, click here for more info. We’re happy to help.

How A Hot Tub Will Change Your Life

Thursday, May 16th, 2019

By Laura Varnon, Marketing Coordinator

Hot tubs are great for relaxation, leisure, socialization and more. But did you know owning a hot tub and using it regularly can change your life?

Health/Ritual

We have had several customers who have told us that after using a hot tub on a daily basis, various health conditions have improved. Several customers have told us that they no longer need to see chiropractors, massage therapists, and are able to return to activities that they used to find difficult in the past due to pain.

A hot tub is an incredible investment in your own health. 20 minutes a day is all you need to get started improving your health.

Wellness/Destress

Taking time out of your busy schedule to soak in a hot tub has tremendous wellness benefits.

A 20-minute hot tub soak allows you to reconnect with your thoughts and take a few moments for yourself to destress. Self-care and time for self-reflection is an important part of your overall well-being.

Connect With Your Partner (or other friends and loved ones)

Do you have a friend, family member or a loved one you need to spend some quality time with? There’s no better place than a hot tub to reconnect.

No Distractions

We like to call hot tub time, unplugged family time. Doesn’t a few minutes of daily time without a smart phone or other device in your hand sound nice?
